Newly-minted WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has finally responded to Deontay Wilder’s excuse for his technical knockout loss.
Fury remains undefeated in 31 professional bouts and became a two-time heavyweight champion last month after an emphatic stoppage of the American boxer in their rematch in Las Vegas.
The 6-foot-9 Briton stunned the sold-out crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena as he unleashed a disciplined offense to dominate his heavyweight rival in seven rounds that led to Wilder’s cornerman, Mark Breland, throwing in the towel in the seventh frame.
‘The Bronze Bomber’ will have the opportunity to exact revenge on Fury when they clash in their trilogy fight this summer, with Wilder looking to ‘rise from the ashes’ and reclaim the title.

Severe Price
Following the loss, Wilder, who lorded over the heavyweight division for five years, continued to make headlines but for the wrong reason as he blamed his 45-pound ringwalk suit for causing problems on his legs.
“I paid a severe price because my legs were how they were because of my uniform,” he said (per ESPN).
“My uniform was way too heavy. It was 40-plus pounds. We had it on 10 or 15 minutes before we even walked out and then put the helmet on.”
“That was extra weight, then the ring walk, then going up the stairs. It was like a real workout for my legs. When I took it off, I knew immediately that game has changed.”

Worthy Opponent
It took weeks before ‘The Gypsy King’ responded to Wilder’s claim, saying he understands that his opponent does not want to admit getting beaten by a better fighter.
“He said he trains in a 45lb weighted vest every day,” Fury said on ITV’s This Morning (per Daily Star).
“I can understand where he’s coming from because in every fighters’ mind there’s always got to be a reason why they’ve lost.
“It can never be a simple case of being beaten by the better men, it’s always the trainer or a problem in the camp, an injury.
“It was my suit, it was my toe, there’s always got to be another problem.”
While Fury considers Wilder as a worthy opponent, he believes the trilogy fight will go his way just like the two previous meetings.
“I beat him the first time and I beat him the second time and I will surely beat him the third time.”
“One thing I’d say about Deontay Wilder is he’s a very worthy opponent.”
“He’s a very dangerous opponent and he has the eraser knockout.”
Deontay Wilder has officially exercised his rematch clause with Tyson Fury.
Trilogy coming 🔥
