Tyson Fury has revealed his prediction for the rematch against Deontay Wilder as he prepares for their blockbuster bout in February.
The heavyweight rivals met in December 2018 in an emphatic draw, as Fury picked himself up from the canvas in the final round to go the distance.
And they’ll go head to head again on February 22 as Fury looks to settle the score and become the new WBC heavyweight champion.
‘Looking for the Knockout’
Fury was adamant he won the first fight, and intends to finish the job this time around.
And The Gypsy King has revealed his plan to win the bout by knockout, claiming a points draw will be hard to come by in America.
The 31-year-old says that’s the reason he decided to switch trainers in the build-up to the clash.
Fury said (via Sky Sports): “I’m looking for the knockout. It’s clear I won’t get a decision in the United States.”
“That’s why I’ve employed the Kronk trainer who specialises in sitting down on the right hand.”
“Look at all the Kronk fighters, Wladimir Klitschko even, they look for the big right hand.”
“I’m looking for the big right hand to nail Wilder. Goodnight. I’m looking for the knockout.”
“If I wasn’t, I would have kept Ben Davison. I’m sick of points decisions, I’ve had plenty, but I’m looking to knock him out.”
“I’m not looking for herky-jerky.”
“I want him to meet me dead-centre of the ring, let’s have a slug-fest.”
“Best man stands, loser goes down.”
“I’ve got 20 knockouts in 29 wins.”
“He knows he was rocked two or three times in the first fight but I never had the gas to finish him.”
Bold Prediction
Fury went on to make a bold prediction for the outcome of their second clash, forecasting a second round knockout victory.
He continued: “I want to meet him mano a mano.”
“I won’t run.”
“You won’t have to look for me.”
“You’re going down in two rounds.”
“Two! He’s getting knocked out in two rounds.”
Fury rose miraculously from the canvas in the first meeting after Wilder seemed to knock him unconscious.
The Gypsy King acknowledged the danger posed by the American heavy-hitter’s right hand, but says it shouldn’t be a problem as he looks to take the world title.
“If I’m stupid enough to get hit by that stupid right hand then I deserve to get knocked out,” he said.
“He knows he’s not messing with a quitter.”
“To beat Tyson Fury you have to nail him to the canvas and if he can’t do that, I’ll eat him up.”
“The consensus is that either he knocks me out, or I win on points.”
“Usually when people have that opinion it goes the other way around.”
‘I’ll Rip His Head Off’
Meanwhile, the ‘Bronze Bomber’ has predicted the opposite, claiming he himself will take the knockout win when they meet in Las Vegas.
“When you have power, there’s no way around it,” Wilder said.
“You can’t prepare for it.”
“I gave this man a concussion the first time, he doesn’t know how he went down or how he got up.”
“This is unfinished business that I will finish.”
“I will knock him out.”
“I’m the king of the jungle.”
“I’ll rip his head off.”
“I’ll knock him through the ropes.”
Winners
The Bronze Bomber has scored two knockout wins since their first fight against Dominic Breazeale and Luis Ortiz.
Fury meanwhile has stopped Tom Schwarz and defeated Otto Wallin on points.
