Tommy Fury, the younger brother of lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has some strong words for KSI after turning down his offer to fight in the squared circle.
The British internet sensation is coming off a split decision win against Logan Paul in their rematch in Los Angeles last month.
Following the victory, the YouTube star received a fight offer from Tommy Fury, despite competing in two different divisions.
“I respect KSI for getting in the ring. He did say he wants to fight [again] after the fight [against Logan Paul],” said the Love Island star, per The Sun.
“I am a young man myself and everyone saying, ‘Oh, a professional boxer calling out a YouTuber’. But isn’t he signed with Eddie Hearn? Didn’t he just fight on DAZN?
“Has he got a professional licence? Yes. Did he fight without a headguard? Yes. Did he fight the same as a professional? Yes.
“Have I had a million fights? No. Have I got any titles? No. Have I had a lot of fights? No. It is quite an even playing field so why not get it on?
Not Interested
KSI has responded to Fury’s callout, saying he is not willing to fight the light heavyweight boxer.
“If I’m honest, not really,” he told Fault Magazine.
“He needs me more than I need him, like way more. I’m on a completely different level to him.”
“If he wants a fight he can fight one of my coaches Viddal Riley, but he won’t though because Viddal would f*** him up.”
Last month, the YouTube star said he is only interested in boxing fights with celebrities, where he can earn massive paychecks.
“I’m gonna fight again, but I don’t think I need to fight Logan again.”
“I think it would make more sense to fight celebs, that would draw more attention, me fighting a journeyman wouldn’t bring numbers.”
“I’m a business-man, I do things that make sense.”
Fight Proper Men
Tommy, who will appear on his third professional fight next week, has responded to KSI’s comments, suggesting that the YouTube sensation should get out of the sport.
“I know if I was in KSI’s position and was only interested in being a celebrity, I’d be saying I just want to fight YouTubers,” he told Metro UK.
“You can’t say that after turning professional and saying you want to be a pro.”
“There’s a lot more to being professional. If he wants to box, then fight proper men.”
“And if he doesn’t, then get out of boxing. It’s not a sport to play in and try and make money off of by ridiculing it.”
