Top UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson has been declared as the most unorthodox fighter to ever grace the Octagon by Joe Rogan.
Ferguson, who will fight for the lightweight championship in April 2020, holds the record for longest and most active winning streak in the 155-pound division.
His most recent UFC fight was against Donald Cerrone last June, where he earned a doctor stoppage win for his 12th straight victory.
Next year, he will take the biggest test of his career as he faces Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 249 in Brooklyn, New York.
Everyone is very excited about this lightweight clash including Rogan and he believes Ferguson will be so far the biggest challenge for the Russian champion.

High Caliber Fighter
In the latest episode of his ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast, the UFC color commentator expressed his awe on Ferguson’s caliber as a mixed martial artist and hailed him as the ‘most unorthodox fighter’ in the history.
“It’s a great fight,” Rogan said.
“I love the fight. Stylistically, [Ferguson is] the best guy that Khabib has ever faced because he can fight off his back.”
“He’s a guy that doesn’t survive off his back, he attacks off his back.”
“He’s the most unorthodox high-level guy ever,” he declared.
“He’s real good. At his level — I consider him a world championship caliber fighter — at his level, I don’t know of anybody that’s more unorthodox than him.”
“And his f**king cardio, man… his cardio is crazy. Off the charts. I’ve never seen anybody with cardio like that.”

Very Beatable
Ferguson recently appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show and said he is confident of his chances against the ‘very beatable’ Nurmagomedov.
As the mind games begin between the lightweight stars, ‘El Cucuy’ said he is already on the Russian’s head.
“I rest hard, I party hard, and I play hard. That’s exactly how I’ve been doing it for a very long time, and nothing’s going to change.”
“The only things I’m going to change are for me and for my team, and nobody else is going to know.”
“I handled Thibault a lot better than the way Khabib did.”
“I’m not going to give any spoilers, but I will say, though, Khabib is very beatable.”
“I’m in this dude’s head. He’s going to train so hard and he’s going to be so nervous that he’s going to make a mistake.”
“I’m going to capitalize on that. I’m going to catch him during the scramble.”
Is Ferguson the fighter to dethrone Nurmagomedov? Who do you think will win the lightweight title fight?
