‘Real-life Superhero’ Phoenix Jones Arrested On Drug Charges

MMA fighter and self-proclaimed superhero Phoenix Jones has been arrested on drug charges after selling MDMA and Cocaine to an undercover agent.

Phoenix Jones is the superhero name of Ben Fodor, an MMA fighter who competed at his highest in the World Series of Fighting (now PFL).

The Texas-born fighter has an MMA record of 7-3-1, including a record of 1-2 in WSOF.

His last fight was a decision defeat to Austin Vanderford in October 2017.

 Vigilante

Fodor gained attention outside the Octagon when he donned his superhero costume to patrol the streets of Seattle as a vigilante.

But the 31-year-old has now landed himself in trouble with the law, after being arrested in King County, Washington, for selling drugs.

According to Seattle news station KOMO, Fodor sold 7.1 grams of MDMA to an undercover police officer at a Starbucks.

The officer had transferred the ‘superhero’ $300 and paid another $200 in person, and the pair had lined up another deal for the future.

Following the second deal, Fodor and an accomplice were arrested on drug charges, with large amounts of cocaine being discovered on site.

 Patchy Record

The self-proclaimed vigilante has a patchy history with the law already.

In 2011 Jones was arrested for assault after using pepper spray to break up an alleged fight.

He attended court wearing his costume before removing his mask to reveal himself as Fodor.

Ultimately no charges were filed, but the Seattle City attorney Pete Holmes referred to Fodor as a ‘deeply misguided individual’.

He’s also been caught driving on a suspended license on eight separate occasions.

 Crime-fighting Criminal

Jones is currently on release and is due to appear in court on February 3.

And regardless of the verdict, it seems unlikely the crime fighting criminal will live this one down.
