Mixed martial arts referee Marc Goddard has responded to Colby Covington, who criticized his stoppage call in the final round of the UFC 245 main event.
Covington, who was coming off a seven fight winning streak, locked horns with Kamaru Usman in the Las Vegas headliner last Saturday, with the welterweight title on the line.
The welterweight pair went to an all-out war, much to the delight of MMA fans, but it was the defending champion who had the last laugh, finishing Covington in the closing round with a solid ground and pound.
“Normally people do their f*cking in the bedroom, not the Octagon,” Chaos wrote on Twitter shortly after the loss.
“Marc Goddard, I go in there to kill or be killed. You robbed me of that. You robbed the people of a fair fight.”
“You should be ashamed of yourself. Fake nut shot. Fake eye poke. Fake stoppage. Fake ref.”

Robbed
In a separate Instagram post, Covington continued to fire shots on the MMA ref, saying he robbed him of the chance to kill his opponent with his poor officiating.
Despite the questionable loss, the American fighter said there is no slowing down for him as he remains on high spirit.
“Just a kid from Oregon chasing the American Dream.”
“Working hard and earning everything in my life the hard way since day one. I put myself out there in front of the world to kill or be killed.”
“Marc Godard robbed me tonight with piss poor officiating.”
“He let my opponent fake injuries for extra time and stopped the fight early.”
“Just like America, my will and spirit can never be broken. Speed bumps can’t slow me down. You people ain’t seen nothing yet.
Giving His All
It did not take long before Goddard responded to Covington’s criticism.
In a latest Instagram post, the veteran MMA ref defended the call and expressed his gratitude to people who understands his work.
“Raw emotion & the highest of stakes, fighting is like nothing else on earth,” Goddard wrote.
“I respect each & every person I stand between & I will give you all I’ve got. I am a human being.”
“Thank you to all who understand what I have put into this game, that will never stop. God bless.”
Covington’s most recent defeat put his MMA career on the brink of its demise but he previously claimed that he plans to bring his talent to WWE should he leave the UFC.
“UFC needs to pay up and if they don’t pay up after this fight you will probably see me in WWE. This is it.”
“I’m putting my foot down. I am willing to retire after Saturday night and go to WWE forever and leave this stupid corrupt business behind.”
