UFC middleweight contender Paulo Costa has weighed in on Logan Paul’s future in the combat sports world, following their sparring session last week.
The YouTube star kicked off his transition to mixed martial arts in a devastating fashion as he was knocked out by the ripped Brazilian fighter in a sparring at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas.
“This morning we came here to the UFC performance institute. Apparently, they want me to spar a guy by the name of Paulo Costa,” Logan shared.
“He’s not a human, he’s bear. He’s a 13 and 0 undefeated UFC fighter. I don’t think he liked the way I looked at him at dinner last night or something, but it’s a good thing I’m a professional boxer now who’s 0 and 1, goddamit.”
“They put the headgear on me, not him. That’s how you know I’m fucked.”

Good Fundamentals
Commenting on Paul’s performance in the sparring, Costa praised his opponent’s fundamentals in wrestling, a skill the could help the YouTube star excel in the Octagon.
“I did boxing sparring last morning with Logan Paul. Logan Paul is a tough guy. He make my lip a little hurt,” he said.
“I’m a tough guy but he [is] also. We did a boxing spar without mouthpieces, mouth guards.”
“We are tough guys. We’re not afraid to take some hits like Adesanya [is]. He’s scared. He avoided the fight [with Romero]. Me, no. Logan Paul not avoid fight.”
“He’s very good, he surprised me.”
“He has good skills in boxing and very skilled in wrestling — he’s very good. I think he trained a lot of wrestling in college, and he’s very good — he surprised me a lot. Maybe he will make some MMA fights in the future.”
“I think MMA will be better for him [than boxing] because he has good wrestling fundamentals. His college, he comes from wrestling, so I think wrestling is his primary martial art.”
Shameful
The Brazilian middleweight is looking to return to action later this year and challenge Israel Adesanya for the world title.
He was in attendance at UFC 248 earlier this month and called Adesanya the ‘most shameful champion,’ following a dull main event fight with Yoel Romero.
“Adesanya is nothing. Adesanya is the most shameful champion I have seen ever. He just runs. He’s nothing. He’s scared. He doesn’t deserve talk about him, but that fight was s—,” Costa said (per MMA Fighting).
“I will make him cry,” he continued. “I will hit him very badly and he will cry like a baby.”
“The fact is, Adesanya can’t handle (Romero), and Adesanya can’t handle against powerful guys like Romero, Jon Jones or me. That’s why he’s afraid to fight.”
