Leon Edwards Plans To Walk Out To Tyron Woodley’s Rap Song At UFC London

Leon Edwards will try to get under Tyron Woodley’s skin in every possible way when they meet in the Octagon this March.

The welterweight contenders are scheduled to lock horns in the main event of UFC Fight Night 171 at the O2 Arena in London, England, with a potential title shot on the line.

The 28-year old fighter out of Birmingham, England, has been undefeated since losing to Kamaru Usman in December 2015.

Among his victims are Donald Cerrone, Vicente Luque, Gunnar Nelson, and the most recent one, Rafael Dos Anjos in a tough decision victory at UFC San Antonio.

Woodley, meanwhile, will appear on hist first fight since losing the 170-pound strap to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235.

The former king of the welterweight released his single ‘Money and the Love’ last summer and Edwards wants to utilize his opponent’s music as his walk out song in their upcoming clash.

Funny

Speaking to Eurobash in a recent interview, ‘Rocky’ admitted he considers walking out to Woodley’s music in an attempt to make a ‘funny’ and ‘good little dig’ on his opponent before their UFC London fight.

“I put the [rap] meme up and I can’t remember what it was, I deleted it and he blocked me after,” Edwards said, (via MMA Fighting).

“I don’t know [the DM] was something like, ‘You punk-ass, I’m going to knock you out,’ and blah, blah, blah…and ‘I make more money than you’…just a bag of nonsense, really.”

“I deleted it after and then he blocked me. I think I really got on his nerves…but he is a crap rapper…everyone knows he’s shit! I don’t understand what the issue is.”

“I might walk out to his music – that might be funny.”

“That would be a good little dig at him before the fight! We’ll see.”

Bad Rapper

Interestingly, Edwards just recently poked fun of Woodley’s music, saying the former champion is a bad rapper and his song is ‘crap.’

“He blocked me on Instagram!” he told MMA Junkie.

“He went in my DMs and called me names and said he’d knock me out and (expletive). Then he blocked me!”

“For me, it’s all banter. I’m having fun with it. It’s weird, right? You talk about his fighting career, and he doesn’t get angry. But you talk about his rap music, he goes mad!”

“But his music is shit, right? He’s not a very good rapper. It’s funny.”

“If I do it, I’ll probably mix it in with another song, so it’ll probably start with his song, then put my one on.”

“I don’t think I can listen to that all the way to the octagon – his music is crap. I’ll probably put some headphones on if I do it, but it’d be funny if I did do it.”

UFC London goes down on March 21. Can Leon Edwards keep his winning streak alive?
