Former three-time world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has confirmed that EA Sports is planning to revive the Fight Night games.
In March 2011, EA Sports released the last instalment to the series entitled ‘Fight Night Champion,’ which was available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and iOs devices.
The concept, content, and the presentation of the game’s last entry were highly praised, with Eurogamer calling it “the most technically accomplished game in the series.”
Fans have been calling for the next instalment to the series especially now that the boxing is back on the spotlight, with Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Deontay Wilder bringing the sport to a different level of popularity.
In December 2019, EA Sports hinted that Fight Night Round 5 could be on its way as “Fight Night Round 4 servers will be retired by March 9 2020.”
Lewis revealed in a recent tweet that the video game publisher is setting its sights on bringing back the beloved boxing series for Xbox and PS5.
“Just heard @EASPORTS is considering bring back #FightNight for XBox and PS5,” the legendary boxer wrote.
“What do you think about that? If they do, they better do me more justice on my fighter rating.”
