Mixed martial manager Ali Abdelaziz reveals Khabib Nurmagomedov has received a lucrative offer to fight two of the biggest combat sports stars in the Middle East.
The Russian champion visited the Du Arena in Abu Dhabi last September to defend his lightweight title against then-interim champion Dustin Poirier at UFC 243.
In another sensational performance, Nurmagomedov submitted ‘The Diamond’ from Louisiana to unify the lightweight titles while preserving his unblemished professional record.
Khabib remains undefeated in 28 outings and holds the record for the most active win streak in the UFC with 12 straight victories.
For his next fight, he will meet the very dangerous Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 249 this April in what many expect as the biggest MMA bout of 2020.
Two months away from his title-retention bid, the lightweight champ has already received a new offer to go up against Conor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather in a massive showdown, with Saudi Arabia playing host to these exciting affairs.
Biggest Paycheck
In a recent interview with TMZ, Khabib’s manager shared the news, saying the potential fight will give Nurmagomedov the biggest paycheck of his career.
“I know some people in Saudi Arabia right now,” Abdelaziz claimed, (via MMA Mania).
“They met with me. They want to pay $100 million to fight Conor in Saudi Arabia.”
“They want to pay $100 million for Khabib to fight Floyd in Saudi Arabia.”
The MMA manager also said ‘The Notorious’ needs to beat higher ranked opponents first such as Justin Gaethje before earning another shot at the 155-pound strap.
“Conor will have to start beating some guys who are relevant.”
“Hey, bitch, go fight Justin Gaethje, get a win, and after that, come back for a title shot.”
Hybrid Fight
Meanwhile, Khabib’s father said the lightweight champ is very much interested in fighting Mayweather Jr. but it has to be under special rules.
“Mayweather has statistics on fights of 50 wins and zero losses, he is the greatest in boxing and he wants to fight with the same champion who did not lose a single fight, with Khabib,” Abdulmanap told Tass.ru.
“Everything is fine, but now we have Tony Ferguson on the line.”
“We said a long time ago: let us finish with Tony, after that we will work with [the team of Ukrainian boxer Vasily] Lomachenko for six months, then there will be a boxing fight.”
“We offer any day anywhere, with only one condition: 11 rounds in boxing and one in mixed martial arts.”
“We will stand 11 rounds against the best boxer, so why not go one round according to the rules of MMA with us? But all things will happen after Tony.”
