Mixed martial arts fans have expressed their concern over the possibility of the UFC 249 pay-per-view event getting cancelled amid the coronavirus scare.
The World Health Organization has recently declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic and has urged the 114 countries affected “to take urgent and aggressive action.”
As a result, the sports world suffers a major fallout, with the National Basketball Association suspending its current season indefinitely after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the virus.
The suspension of the NBA’s current season has sparked speculations that the Ultimate Fighting Championship might also cancel its upcoming events including the highly-awaited UFC 249.
The said fight card, which will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, will be held on April 18, 2020 in New York, the state with the second most number of cases in the United States.
Fans are now worried they may not be able to see the Khabib vs Ferguson fight finally happening.
Welp as much as I hate to say this I think UFC 249 is gonna be cancelled

If UFC 249 gets cancelled because of the virus I’m just going to believe that Tony vs Khabib will never happen

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson might have no choice but to postpone their fight again. Don't be shocked if UFC 249 gets cancelled.

if UFC 249 gets cancelled, idk if god will ever let it happen. nobody better breathe on @TeamKhabib or @TonyFergusonXT until then
— diego (@deeyaago) March 12, 2020
If UFC 249 gets full-cancelled it's confirmed that Tony and Khabib are just cursed to never fight each other.
I've been telling people not to hold their breath for this fight, even though I can't deny it's still my top anticipated fight of all time.

It looks like Tony Ferguson and Khabib might make it to UFC 249 on April 18th healthy, a fight that has been cancelled four times.
Coronavirus is trying to stop us from that magical match-up that we're all dying to see.
This fight is cursed and now we all must suffer our fate.

Imagine if UFC 249 gets cancelled because of the virus and we miss out on Khabib vs Tony for the fifth time.
