Jorge Masvidal has explained how he sees each of his opponents as an equation to be solved, and says beating Conor McGregor is ‘just maths’.
Masvidal recently revealed he’ll go after Usman’s welterweight title in his next fight, because Notorious ‘isn’t ready’ to fight him.
But that hasn’t stopped him from reiterating his belief that the Irishman will come unstuck when they finally face off.
Gamebred says unpicking his opponents is like a game-plan in football or an equation he has a knack for solving.

‘It’s Just Math’
Speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Masvidal said: “If you don’t know too much about fighting, it might sound cocky, but a good football coach that seeing openings constantly, he goes, ‘Man, we can run the ball, we can throw it,’ all this craziness,”
“It’s just math to me, man, and when I see Conor, I see a lot of holes from a technical standpoint.”
“If I’m a coach and I’m advising my athlete the best way to beat this guy, I see many math scenarios there.”
The ‘BMF’ went on to explain how he has a talent for seeing his opponents’ fight plan as equations.
“I see X’s and O’s, I see the square root of his face times my numbers, I see all these things constantly,”
“When it comes to fighting, everybody here has a number on their face, division, multiplication.”
“It’s just something that God gifted me with, so I’m really good at it.”

Numbers Game
He says that when he does the math on McGregor, the numbers lean heavily in his favour.
“Not that his game is not good, because his game is great, but when I do the math and I see the numbers in my head and I see the openings that I can take advantage of – I lean towards me very heavy.”
While it looks like Masvidal will be going after Usman first, he’s confirmed that he’ll be waiting once McGregor is ready.
He made sure to get across his belief that should the two meet, it wouldn’t end well for Notorious.
“Go do your thing,” Masvidal said.
“Go back down to your division, do whatever you’re going do.”
“Whether you’re going to win or lose, that’s none of my business.”
“Go do your stuff,”
“But at 170, there’s only one sheriff in town.”

Fight Plan
McGregor had previously laid out a three-fight plan for 2020.
Alongside Masvidal, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje emerged as likely candidates.
