Jon Jones has labeled Jan Blachowicz ‘a strange guy’ after the light heavyweight contender said he cannot wait to ‘fist’ the defending champion.
On Saturday, ‘Bones’ said he is not interested in an immediate rematch with Dominick Reyes, following their five-round contest at UFC 247, saying he wants ‘fresh meat’ for his next light heavyweight title-defence.
“Now suddenly I’m afraid of a good dogfight? Pretty sure I walked him down for 25 minutes straight when we fought. One thing about being the champion of the world, you got to search for fresh meat on every soil. I’m feeling like popping some cherries in Poland, haven’t had that yet,” Jones wrote on Twitter, calling out Blachowicz.
The Polish fighter quickly accepted the challenge in a strange response to Jones’ callout.
“So, it’s a date. Can’t wait to fist you,” Blachowicz told Jones.

The Jackson Wink MMA standout was quick to remind Blachowicz: “First of all, it would be a fight, not a date…you’re not going to be fisting anyone. What a strange guy you are, Jan.”

Jones has been undefeated in four title fights since his return to the Octagon in December 2018 to remain on top of the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings.
But some of his rivals at 205-pounds has urged the promotion to strip Jones of his title after he was arrested for aggravated DWI (driving while intoxicated), negligent use of a firearm, possession of an open container, and no proof of insurance in Albuquerque last month.
He pleaded guilty to these charges and is required to serve a four-day house arrest and complete a 48-hour community service to avoid jail time.
“While we all work to understand and cope with stress and uncertainties surrounding the current state of our world, I want to express how truly disappointed I am that I have become the source of a negative headline again, especially during these trying times,” Jones said in a statement (via TMZ).
”I am disappointed for letting down the people I care about the most, my family, friends and my fans. This morning I entered into a plea deal with the Albuquerque DA’s office.”
“I accept full responsibility for my actions and I know that I have some personal work to do to, which involves the unhealthy relationship I have with alcohol.”
