Jon Jones is facing legal troubles again.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight titlist on Thursday was arrested by authorities in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was charged with aggravated DWI (driving while intoxicated) and negligent use of firearms.
The arrest records gathered by MMA Fighting showed the pound-for-pound king was taken to police custody at 1:01AM as officers responded to gunshots and found Jones in his vehicle.
The UFC champ denied the gunshots fired but a gun and a bottle of Recuerdo was later found inside his car. He also failed the sobriety and breathalyzer tests.
Communications director for the Albuquerque Police Gilbert Gallegos said “As part of the investigation into this incident, our Gun Violence Reduction Unit will test the firearm and bullet casing to determine whether the gun has been used in any crimes,” (via MMA Fighting).
“Reducing gun violence in Albuquerque is our top priority.”
