Jan Blachowicz Sends Message To Jon Jones With Odd Choice Of Words

Jan Blachowicz has a strange response to Jon Jones after the light heavyweight champion said he wants a new challenger for his next title-defence.

Jones was once again pushed to his limits when he locked horns with Dominick Reyes in the main event of UFC 247 last February.

After a five-round war, the Jackson Wink MMA product had his hand raised as he secured a unanimous decision victory, much to the dismay of the challenger, who believes he has done enough to capture the 205-pound supremacy.

Reyes said an immediate rematch could be on the line but Jones is hesitant to sign the contract.

“I know the UFC is on board. I know I’m on board. The issue is Jon right now,” ‘The Devastator’ told MMA Junkie.

“He’s going to say he’s down online, obviously on Twitter. When he gets those contracts in front of him, he’s a little different. That’s where we’re at.”

Popping Some Cherries

Indeed, ‘Bones’ isn’t too interested in fighting Reyes for the second time.

Taking to Twitter, the defending light heavyweight titlist said he wants Jan Blachowicz as his next challenger

“Now suddenly I’m afraid of a good dogfight?” Jones wrote.

“Pretty sure I walked him down for 25 minutes straight when we fought. One thing about being the champion of the world, you got to search for fresh meat on every soil. I’m feeling like popping some cherries in Poland, haven’t had that yet.”

Strange Response

The Polish fighter has been undefeated in the last three outings, beating Luke Rockhold, Ronaldo Souza, and Corey Anderson respectively.

For his next fight, Blachowicz hopes the UFC will grant him the next title shot and he cannot hide his excitement when Jones made his recent statement.

In response to Jones saying he wants ‘fresh meat’ for his next title-defence, Blachowicz said: “So it’s a date. Can’t wait to fist you.”

In a previous interview with MMA Junkie, the 37-year old fighter said he doesn’t want to fight for the interim title amid speculations that Jones could be stripped of the 205-pound strap, following his arrest in Albuquerque.

“No, I’m waiting for Jon Jones. I will wait for the title shot. I will not accept any different fight.”

“It’s nothing new, so I was just, ‘It’s OK. He (did) this again, but I don’t care. I want to beat him in the octagon. I don’t care what he does outside the octagon. It’s his life, so I don’t care.”
