Israel Adesanya has savagely laid into Jon Jones, calling his rival a ‘drug cheat’ and questioning his career as the pair continue their online feud.
Adesanya and Jones have been going at each other on social media for a while and it looks as though they may go head-to-head in the future.
But it seems the middleweight champion is especially eager to step into the Octagon with Jones after unleashing the scathing verbal attack.
‘Drug Cheat’
After winning Walkout of the Year in ESPN’s 2019 Nose Awards, ‘Stylebender’ took the opportunity to tear into his rival.
During the rant (via ESPN MMA), Adesanya said: “People are gonna remember you ’cause you’re a drug cheat. You’re a steroid cheat.”
“That’s what they’re gonna remember.”
“All the sh*t you’ve done, noone really cares anymore ‘cause they know you cheated.”
“That’s all they’re gonna remember”
The 30-year-old also claimed that his walkouts are better than any of Jones’ achievements, calling into question his career.”
He continued: “My walkouts are going to be greater than his whole career.”
“I’m only coming up two years [in the UFC],”
“Imagine what I’m gonna do in the next five, the next six, seven years.”
“I’m only two years in.”
“He’s old, he’s washed.”
No Matter What
Adesanya didn’t stop at just insulting ‘Bones’. He made sure to reiterate that he was coming for the American no matter what.
“He can say whatever he wants to say, I can say the same thing”
“I can say whatever I want (but) it’s all words”
“Eventually, when we see each other, we will see each other,”
“I still have never seen me and him in the same room together. I wonder why.”
“But eventually, we will see each other at some point, and he’s going to have to see me like everybody else does.”
“When I see him, he’ll see me, and he’ll feel me. He’ll take me in as the man that I am.”
“He’ll see me and realise ‘Oh sh*t, this guy ain’t as small as people think.’
“Why don’t you want to beat me yourself? Why do you not want to try and see me yourself?”
“If Dom beats him it makes no difference. I’m coming for him, I’m coming on him. You wait, in 2021, you’ll see.”
All Out War
It’s not uncommon for two fighters to lay into one another, but with Adesanya claiming he’ll come after Jones even if he loses his next fight, it seems there is real hatred between the pair.
If they step into the Octagon together, it could be all out war.
