‘Cowboy’ Denies Breaking His Nose And Orbital Bone in Conor McGregor KO Loss

Donald Cerrone has claimed he did not suffer any injury on his knockout loss to Conor McGregor.

The mixed martial arts veteran appeared on the biggest fight of his career when he welcomed McGregor back to the cage at UFC 246 main event last month.

But things did not go as planned for Cerrone as he failed to land a single significant strike after getting knocked out just 40 seconds into the opening round.

As the Irishman unleashed brutal shoulder strikes, a head kick, and left punches, Cerrone reportedly sustained a broken nose and orbital bone in the process.

In the Nevada State Atheletic Commission’s medical suspension report, it was stated that ‘Cowboy’ could sit out for six months due to these injuries if he is not cleared by a maxillofacial specialist.

False

Weeks after the devastating finish, Cerrone is denying he sustained the injuries and said he didn’t undergo any surgery.

Asked if he had orbital surgery after UFC 246, the MMA veteran replied: “Surgery?? I didn’t have anything broken.”

“That’s because they didn’t break. Not sure why the ufc always says that,” he added.

In a previous interaction with fans on his social media account, Cerrone also denied taking a dive against the former two-division champ.

“Take a dive you stupid motherf*cker?? Who you think your talking to? Get a f*cking life,” he told a fan.

In another response, Cerrone wrote: “You think that’s funny? You feel like I’m the kind of Man that would sell my soul? Do me a favor and unfollow me if that’s how you feel.”

Phenomenal Legacy

Meanwhile, the Irish star had some kind words for Cerrone after their welterweight showdown, saying he was honored to share the cage with the 36-year old veteran.

“The records that man has, give him some sort of belt,” McGregor told the media in the post-fight press conference (via MMA Junkie).

“Seriously. You give belts out, this, that and the other, and they’re even creating them these days.”

“What a phenomenal legacy Donald has, and it’s an honor to share the octagon with that man. Seriously, I mean that.”

“I’ve shared the octagon with some great UFC fighters, and Donald is up there with the best of them all. I’m very, very proud to share the octagon with him.”

“Phenomenal records, I can only hope and dream to achieve the records he has.”

Going into UFC 246, Cerrone holds the UFC records for the most wins, most knockdowns, and most post-fight bonuses.

It was Cerrone’s third straight defeat after losing back-to-back fights to Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje at 155 pounds.
