The past two years have been tough for Conor McGregor inside and outside the Octagon.
In April 2018, McGregor and his team crashed the UFC 223 media day in Brooklyn, New York and threw a dolly inside a bus carrying UFC fighters including Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The former two-division champion pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct but avoided jail time after he agreed to complete a five-day community service and enter an anger management program.
Six months later, the Irishman would make his highly-anticipated MMA return and faced his biggest enemy in the headliner of UFC 229. Unfortunately for McGregor, the defending lightweight champion was too much to handle.
‘The Notorious’ was submitted in the fourth round before Nurmagomedov attacked Dillon Danis that sparked an ugly brawl inside the T-mobile Arena.
As the aftermath of the fracas, McGregor was banned from fighting for six months. He completed the suspension in April 2019 but needed to sit out for the rest of the year due to a hand injury. During this layoff, more legal troubles came his way.
Massive Comeback
Looking to bounce back from these setbacks, McGregor finally made a return trip to the Octagon earlier this year, when he tussled with Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.
In 40 seconds, the Irish star was able to redeem himself and turned things around by knocking out the MMA veteran.
And just like that, McGregor’s popularity soared higher and he is once again the darling of the UFC.
To make up for the lost time, he promised to become more active this year as he sets his sights on exacting revenge on his Russian rival in a blockbuster rematch.
Currently, McGregor is busy helping Ireland fight the coronavirus pandemic, donating €1 million worth of personal protective equipment to hospitals while encouraging his countrymen to wear mask and follow social distancing protocols.

Higher Ground
In a recent Instagram post, McGregor explained how he was able to recover from the challenges of the past two years and reminded his fans it is never too late to turn your life around.
“I ordered all of my powers back to me and that order was followed,” he wrote.
“It is never to late to summon our powers and advance to higher ground. Never, ever too late! Whatever stage we are at.”
“There is always higher power, and there is always higher ground. Good luck! The cover shot was taken backstage post my last bout. Thank you @fightersonlymag. Hard work. Focus. Re dedication = Results!”
