Conor McGregor’s recent social media post, flaunting his shredded physique, has caused speculations among mixed martial arts fans that he may be preparing for a fight against Jorge Masvidal.
‘The Notorious’ from Ireland has been out of action for more than a year now since his fourth round submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.
According to his recent claims, he will make his impending return on January 2020. Donald Cerrone is named as his potential opponent, with reports saying that negotiations are going smoothly.
While McGregor is on fighting hiatus, he does not waste the time calling out fighters on social media. One of his target opponents for his MMA comeback is the streaking welterweight fighter, Jorge Masvidal.
The native of Miami, Florida has established his name in the sport this year, following his knockout wins against Darren Till and Ben Askten and for capturing the ‘BMF’ title in his most recent outing against Nate Diaz.
Masvidal has joined the McGregor sweepstakes, campaigning for a potential money fight, but UFC president Dana White said he was too big for the Irishman.
Now, it looks like the former two division champ is making serious efforts to reach 170 pounds.
Check out McGregor’s photo alongside wrestling coach Sergey Pikulskiy, where fans noticed a massive improvement on his physique. (This is shared both on Instagram and Twitter).
The UFC’s biggest draw has requested for ‘three-piece and a soda’ shortly after Masvidal’s doctor stoppage win at UFC 244.
The UFC president said they are preparing something big for Masvidal on his next outing, which could be a potential shot at the welterweight title.
But if it’s about McGregor, anything can happen.
This is why MMA fans think he might be sharing the cage with “Gamebred’ early next year.
