Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov tussled in another heated social media war, days after the lightweight champion faced the media at the pre-UFC 249 press conference.
The UFC stars first fought in October 2018, when the Russian wrestling-machine punched his way to a fourth-round submission victory to retain his world title.
Following the title fight, which topped the records for the highest pay-per-view buys, an ugly brawl ensued involving both camps that resulted to lengthy suspensions and hefty fines.
Since that fateful night, McGregor and Nurmagomedov won a UFC fight apiece, with ‘The Eagle’ unifying the titles in September 2019 while the Irishman knocked out Donald Cerrone last January.
McGregor is being linked to a potential rematch with Khabib for his next outing as the UFC is serious in pursuing the fight in what could be another record-breaking event.

So far, Khabib is not interested in fighting McGregor for the second time, claiming the Irish star is not a legit contender and the rematch will be just a ‘big drama show.’
But this won’t stop McGregor from taking a dig on his fiercest rival.
In a recent Twitter post, ‘The Notorious’ shared a photo of Nurmagomedov attacking his cornerman, Dillon Danis, at the UFC 229 brawl, along with a caption “STreEt fight.”
It didn’t take long for Khabib to respond as he posted a photo of the fourth-round submission with a caption “Heeelp.”
He then shared a video of McGregor punching an old man in the face at an Irish pub that made headlines last year and told the Irish star: “Show it to your son and say how good you are on the street fight.”
McGregor responded, saying “I save my hugs for postfight” along with a cartoon of a light moment with Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

Khabib will return to action next month as he takes on Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 249 for his third straight title-retention attempt.
UFC president Dana White has previously claimed McGregor will face the winner of this massive title clash.
