UFC star Amanda Nunes has sent a brutal warning to middleweight boxing champion Claressa Shields following her UFC 245 victory.
Nunes and Shields have been going back and forth for sometime, and there has long been speculation of a superfight between the two.
And the event now looks more likely, as Nunes has sent harsh words to the boxer following her victory at UFC 245.
Talking It Up
Two-time Olympic gold medallist Shields was present as Nunes beat Germaine de Randamie via decision to defend her UFC bantamweight title.
The boxing champion then spoke to reporter where she bigged up a fight with the Brazilian.
Talking to ESPN, she said: “Dana White flew me and my manager out,”
“That’s why I left camp, but I trained this morning for two hours, so that’s good. I’m also here to see Amanda Nunes fight her opponent.”
“We wanna see what’s up with Amanda Nunes in for the future with a boxing match and an MMA match,”

Not Impressed
Nunes was less than impressed when asked about the potential match-up in the UFC 245 post-fight conference, and had harsh words for Shields.
“She saw tonight,” she said.
“I don’t think she’s going to want anything to do with this.”
“If she wants to see me, come to my world. I’m gonna be here. I’m an MMA fighter.”
“She wants to see me, I’m gonna wrestle the sh*t out of you and finish you with a jiu-jitsu submission. I want to see how she’s gonna feel.”
Nunes isn’t happy with Shields attempts to draw her out of the Octagon and into a boxing ring.
She continued: “I’m an MMA fighter, why she want to take me from my sport?”
“If she wants to fight me, come to my world. It doesn’t make any sense. I respect her as a boxer, but I’m an MMA fighter. I don’t like to fight [in boxing]. I like MMA.”
“I like what I did today. If she can handle that for five rounds, come see me.”
“Six months to learn how to defend a takedown? Germaine, six years, she didn’t even learn how to defend a takedown. You guys saw tonight. Don’t even listen to this girl, guys.”
Unbeatables
Nunes is unbeaten in ten fights in the UFC, whilst Shields remains undefeated in her boxing career.
A cross-over fight between the two would be interesting to say the least, but with Shields encouraging a boxing match and Nunes reluctant to leave the Octagon, the question is what kind of fight it would be.
